Fruity Ice-Scream Dessert

We all love a healthy snack. More than just a snack or dessert being good for us – we love it when it’s tasty too!

What about snacks that our kids love to eat that are really good for them. This recipe is one of those desserts that taste amazing, but is really fresh, light and overall good for you.

I call this dessert the Fruity ice-Scream Dessert! This dessert is almost like sherbet with a really good tropical punch in the face. You’re going to scream for more of this fruity-flavored goodness.

Before you begin, you want to make sure that you have all the tools needed for making this chilled treat. The tools that out family use for making this dessert are: an portable ice maker, a blender and the normal kitchen utensils.

Ingredients

The ingredients that you’re going to need for this dessert are as follows:

  • 3 cups chopped strawberries or chopped pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

You can make variations to the type of fruit if you want to, but we really enjoy this combination. The choices are endless and you can be really creative.

Directions

  1. Mix together the fruit, sugar, honey and lemon juice with 2 cups ice in a food processor or blender until chunky. Add another 1 cup ice and blend until it’s perfectly smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into a shallow baking dish and freeze 30 minutes. Scrape the ice with a fork until slushy, then freeze until firm, about 2 more hours. Now you are ready to enjoy this awesome dessert!
